Claude Code can fetch Encrata’s auth.md, read how to authenticate and which endpoints exist, then write and run your integration from the terminal. Because it can make requests itself, it can also test the calls it writes.

Prerequisites

1

Get an API key

Create one in the dashboard or read Authentication. Keys start with enc_.
2

Install Claude Code

Set up

1

Store your key as an environment variable

Claude Code inherits your shell environment, so it can authenticate without the key ever appearing in a file.
2

Add Encrata to your project context

Create a CLAUDE.md in your repo so every session knows to work from the contract. Claude Code reads it automatically.

3

Ask Claude Code to build and test

Start claude, then describe the task. It fetches auth.md, writes the code, and can run the request to confirm it works.
